About the Parent Committee
The Parent Committee is a volunteer group that works alongside our Leaders to support the day-to-day running of 1st Sunbury Scout Group. The committee helps ensure our young people have the resources, equipment and opportunities they need to get the most out of Scouting.
We welcome all parents, carers and guardians—no experience required.
What We Do
The Parent Committee is responsible for:
Fundraising and Events
raffles, BBQs, stalls and community events
Hall & Equipment Management
maintenance, bookings and storage
Financial Oversight
budgeting, reimbursements and group accounts
Supporting Leaders
admin support and help organising activities
Parent Engagement & Communication
keeping families informed
Child Safety Requirements
ensuring all paperwork and processes stay current
Meetings
The Parent Committee meets once a term or when needed, typically on the a Tuesday evening.
All parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
How to Get Involved
There are many ways to help — from a single event to an ongoing role.
You can volunteer for things like:
Helping run fundraising stalls
Cooking at BBQs
Assisting with hall/ground maintenance
Managing rosters or admin tasks
Joining the committee as an office bearer
Even a small amount of help makes a big difference.
